Boseman's widow, Simone Ledward-Boseman, will accept the prestigious honor on his behalf. The star's location at 6904 Hollywood Blvd. will serve as a lasting memorial to Boseman's remarkable career and enduring impact on the film industry.
"The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is deeply honored to celebrate Chadwick Boseman's extraordinary legacy with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame," said Ana Martinez, the Walk of Fame producer. "His powerful performances and enduring impact both on and off screen continue to inspire generations around the world."
Boseman, who passed away in 2020 at the age of 43 after a private battle with colon cancer, left an indelible mark on Hollywood. His breakout role as Jackie Robinson in 42 was followed by acclaimed portrayals of James Brown and Thurgood Marshall. But it was his iconic turn as the Marvel superhero Black Panther that cemented his status as a global icon.
