Catherine Laga'aia, soon to be seen as the titular character in Disney's live-action 'Moana,' has been cast in the lead role for the Australian Gen-Z thriller 'Crashout.' This marks her first project following her major Disney role. The film, set to begin production in Australia in March, centers on three high school graduates who become stranded after a fatal car accident. To hide their involvement in the incident, they concoct a found footage film. Directed by Nick Annas, who wrote the screenplay at age 17, 'Crashout' delves into themes of self-preservation and control of narratives from a modern youth perspective. The project is being produced by Deadhouse Films.
