Carys Douglas, the 23-year-old daughter of actors Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones, is embarking on her professional acting career with a stage debut in New York City. Having recently earned a degree in film and international studies from Brown University, Douglas is set to portray "Nina" in a production of Anton Chekhov's renowned play, "The Seagull."
This theatrical venture is being presented by the Solid Flesh Company, a new theater group based in Brooklyn, as part of their inaugural season. Performances of "The Seagull" are scheduled for a limited engagement on June 20, 26, and 27, taking place at St. Lydia's.
Douglas’s role as Nina places her as the star of the play-within-the-play and the object of affection for the playwright Konstantin. Her participation marks another step in her entertainment industry aspirations, following her appearance in the Oscar-qualifying short film "F*ck That Guy."
