Carys Douglas Trades Acting for Producing Stage Plays

Carys Douglas, the 23-year-old daughter of Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas, is embarking on a new career phase, moving from acting to producing. Fresh from her graduation from Brown University, where she studied film and international studies, Douglas announced her venture on social media. She is actively seeking writers to submit their plays, with the intention of producing a selected work for an Off-Broadway theater in New York City.

Douglas has expressed a strong desire to forge her own identity, distinct from her renowned parents. She previously shared in an interview that she feels compelled to constantly prove her work ethic, countering the perception that her achievements are easily attained. This drive has been evident even before her graduation, as she appeared in short films like '[Expletive] That Guy' and 'Shell' in 2024.

While Carys is now stepping more into the public eye, her parents, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas, prioritized a normal upbringing for their children, often raising them in Bermuda. This upbringing was so successful that Carys once humorously recalled thinking her father was simply a "pancake maker."
