Summary
- Carole Radziwill's ex auditioned for a role in 'Love Story'.
- She lost best friends JFK Jr., Carolyn Bessette, and husband Anthony within weeks.
- Radziwill felt excluded from the Ryan Murphy series about the Kennedys.

Carole Radziwill, now 62, experienced profound loss at 36 when her husband, Anthony Radziwill, and best friends John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette died within three weeks in 1999. Anthony, a cousin of JFK Jr., battled cancer for years, with Carolyn being a significant support for Carole during his treatment.
Recently, Radziwill revealed a surprising detail from the production of Ryan Murphy's series 'Love Story,' which dramatizes JFK Jr. and Carolyn's relationship. She learned her ex-partner had auditioned to play her late husband, Anthony. This news deeply impacted her.
Despite her close ties, Radziwill is not a character in the nine-part series. Sources suggest she was considered "adjacent, not central" to the plot, which prioritizes the love story of John and Carolyn. This exclusion has been a "hard pill to swallow" for someone who valued her proximity to the Kennedys.
The series depicts the relationship between John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette, culminating in their deaths alongside Carolyn's sister, Lauren Bessette, in a plane crash on July 16, 1999. John had been piloting the plane near Martha's Vineyard when it crashed into the Atlantic Ocean.
Anthony Radziwill passed away just a month after the plane crash, in August 1999, with Carole by his side. Following these tragedies, Carole published her memoir, "What Remains: A Memoir of Fate, Friendship and Love," which became a New York Times Best Seller in 2005. She later joined 'The Real Housewives of New York City' in 2011, departing in 2018.
