The singer revealed that her son's name was inspired by the television series "Heated Rivalry". Jepsen had previously been asked to write a song for the show's first season.

Jepsen first announced her pregnancy in November, sharing black-and-white photos on Instagram. She officially announced her son's arrival in March via social media, posting a picture of herself holding the newborn. Jepsen married Cole M.G.N. in 2024, becoming engaged in September of that year. The couple tied the knot at the Chelsea Hotel in New York City.
