Capybara's Great Escape: Birthday Bash for Escaped Rodent
12 Sep
Summary
- A capybara named Cinnamon escaped her zoo enclosure and evaded capture for a week.
- Her week-long adventure garnered global attention and inspired a children's book.
- The zoo is celebrating Cinnamon's third birthday with themed activities and treats.
A special birthday celebration is planned for Cinnamon, a capybara who achieved international fame following her escape from Hoo Zoo.
Two years ago, Cinnamon spent a week "living her best life" after an accidentally open gate allowed her to leave her enclosure. Her escapade captured global attention and even inspired a children's book.
Zoo staff are inviting visitors to join in birthday-themed activities to mark Cinnamon's third birthday. However, they anticipate the celebrated capybara might be indifferent to the festivities. Zoo owner Will Dorrell noted that capybaras are generally not the most attention-seeking animals and Cinnamon herself can be somewhat of a "diva."
Despite her reserved nature, Cinnamon is considered one of the zoo's most cherished residents. She will be presented with special birthday treats to mark the occasion.
