CAPE Celebrates 35 Years of Elevating API Talent

The Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment (CAPE) is marking a significant milestone with its 35th Anniversary Gala, scheduled for this October in downtown Los Angeles. This event, presented by Lexus, will celebrate the organization's enduring commitment to spotlighting, cultivating, and supporting Asian and Pacific Islanders within the entertainment industry.

The gala will pay tribute to distinguished Asian and Pacific Islander Luminaries who have made a substantial impact and share a long-standing connection with CAPE's history. Comedian and actor Asif Ali will host the festivities, which will also feature honorees Randall Park and Manny Jacinto. Further details about additional honorees are expected to be announced soon.

Founded in 1991 by Asian American executives, CAPE began as a community space and has since evolved into a vital non-profit. It has expanded its reach through various programs, including the CAPE New Writers Fellowship, Showrunner Incubator, and Leaders Fellowship, providing crucial support for writers, filmmakers, and executives at all career stages.

This gala marks a special occasion, as CAPE's 30th anniversary was not celebrated due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, a decade after their last gala, the organization is set to host another landmark event, underscoring its continued dedication to uplifting its community and fostering future talent in the industry.
