The crime thriller "Paper Tiger," directed by James Gray, has officially joined the Palme d'Or competition at the Cannes Film Festival. The film, featuring a star-studded cast including Adam Driver, Scarlett Johansson, and Miles Teller, will debut its world premiere in competition.
"Paper Tiger" tells the story of two brothers pursuing the American dream, only to become ensnared in a perilous scheme. Their journey through a world of corruption and violence will test their familial bonds, with betrayal becoming a distinct possibility as they face threats from the Russian "Mafiya."
Neon has acquired the North American distribution rights for the film. This addition brings the total number of films in competition to 22, with Gray being one of two American directors featured this year. The film reunites Johansson and Driver, who previously earned Oscar nominations for their roles in "Marriage Story."
