In a legal dispute that has unfolded over the past three years, rapper Cam'ron (Cameron Giles) has filed a lawsuit against fellow artist J. Cole (Jermaine Cole) over their 2022 collaboration "Ready '24." According to court documents, Cam'ron alleges that in exchange for his featured verse on the track, Cole had promised to either join him on a separate song or make an appearance on Cam'ron's sports talk show "It Is What It Is."
However, Cam'ron claims that despite repeated attempts to collaborate with Cole in the months leading up to the release of Cole's 2024 mixtape "Might Delete Later," the Dreamville boss repeatedly declined, citing being too busy. Cam'ron is now seeking over $500,000 in royalties and profits from the release of "Ready '24" on the mixtape, as he states he has not been compensated for his contribution.
Universal Music Group, the record label that released the mixtape, is also named as a defendant in the lawsuit. As of October 2025, the legal battle between the two rappers remains ongoing.
