Nick Jonas shared the surprising story behind Joe Jonas securing the role of Shane Gray in Camp Rock. The audition tape was famously filmed on a low-quality Flip Cam in a hotel room during one of the Jonas Brothers' tours, with the brothers assisting Joe. The video quality was so poor that Disney executives initially thought it was a joke, leading to a reshoot.
Following Joe's successful audition, the Jonas Brothers' father brokered a deal with Disney. He insisted that Nick and Kevin also be cast as Joe's on-screen band, Connect 3, to keep the group together. This negotiation was crucial in shaping the popular Disney Channel movie and launching the band's acting careers alongside their music.
Fifteen years after the sequel, the trio has officially completed production on Camp Rock 3 in Vancouver. While Demi Lovato will not appear, she is executive producing the film alongside the brothers. The upcoming movie will feature Connect 3 returning to the music camp to find a new opening act for their reunion tour, focusing on a new generation of campers.
