On October 30th, 2025, the fifth annual Día de Muertos Gala will take place in Los Angeles, celebrating Latino culture, family, and community. The event, presented by Mexican-American photographer and entrepreneur Carlos Eric Lopez, will honor "trailblazers who have paved the way for the recent surge in global recognition of Mexican and Latino American artistic contributions."
One of the evening's highlights will be Camila Cabello's presentation of the Abuelita Award to her grandmother, Mercedes Rodriguez. Cabello, who landed on the Billboard Hot 100 with her song "First Man" dedicated to her father, will take the stage to recognize the role her grandmother has played in her life and her appreciation of her Latino heritage.
In addition to Cabello's tribute, the gala will feature a performance by Mexican-American singer-songwriter DannyLux, who will honor the spirit of remembrance. The event will also recognize Jesus Perez, the founder of Lucky Athletes, for his work championing Latino youth through sports.
At the gala, Lopez will officially unveil TúTomorrow, a nonprofit he founded to "empower the next generation of Latino creatives and entrepreneurs." In partnership with the Hispanic Federation, the organization will provide student grants to Los Angeles-based college students to support their creative pursuits.
