- The Grade II listed building closed to the public 23 years ago.
- Restoration work is underway and expected to finish in 2027.

A community heritage project, Stall Stories: Collecting Memories of Burslem Market Hall, is underway to gather recollections of the landmark building. This initiative, spearheaded by Claybody Theatre in collaboration with Stoke-on-Trent City Council, seeks photographs and stories from the public.
The Grade II listed Burslem Market Hall, a fixture for generations, has been inaccessible for 23 years since its closure in 2003 due to safety concerns. Restoration efforts commenced earlier this year, with completion anticipated in 2027.
A dedicated space at 32 Queen Street will serve as an engagement hub, allowing visitors to observe the redevelopment progress and contribute their memories. These contributions could potentially form the basis of a theatrical production staged within the market hall post-renovation, subject to funding.
Members of the Claybody team will be available at 32 Queen Street every Saturday morning from June 20 to July 25 to collect these valuable personal histories.
