Florian Zeller's new psychological thriller, "Bunker," starring Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem, will premiere at the Venice International Film Festival on September 8.
Written, produced, and directed by Zeller, the film explores the emotional and moral struggles of a couple in an increasingly uncertain world. Javier Bardem portrays Miguel, a successful London architect contemplating a lucrative offer to construct a survivalist bunker for a tech billionaire.
This project strains Miguel's 17-year marriage to Sofia, played by Penélope Cruz. As they become entangled in a life of extreme wealth, paranoia, and fear, Sofia begins to question their relationship. An unnerving neighbor further amplifies their anxieties.
"Bunker" also features Stephen Graham, Paul Dano, and Patrick Schwarzenegger. Sony Pictures Classics has acquired North American rights, while FilmNation Entertainment handles international sales. Pathé will distribute the film in France, Switzerland, and West Africa.
