Sarah Michelle Gellar and David Boreanaz, stars of the iconic series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, shared a heartwarming reunion at the 2026 Emmy Awards. The pair posed together on the red carpet at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, both appearing delighted to be reunited.
Their appearance at the awards ceremony precedes the 30th anniversary of the cult vampire drama, which is set to be celebrated in March. Boreanaz is also currently promoting his new NBC series, The Rockford Files.
Gellar recently faced disappointment when a planned reboot of Buffy, titled Buffy: New Sunnydale, was canceled by Hulu. Gellar expressed frustration, citing an executive who was reportedly dismissive of the original series. Disney, however, stated their continued respect for the creative team involved.
The original supernatural series, which followed Buffy (Gellar) in her fight against vampires and demons, ran from 1997 to 2003. Boreanaz portrayed Angel, Buffy's first love, and later starred in a spin-off series.
