Suga's Secret Stage Name Origin Revealed!

In a recent Wired interview, BTS member SUGA disclosed the surprising origin of his stage name. He revealed that his pseudonym was inspired by UFC fighter Sean O'Malley, a detail previously unknown to his bandmates. SUGA explained that the name 'Suga' is linked to legendary boxer Sugar Ray Leonard, and is given to those with exceptional striking skills.

This revelation contrasts with SUGA's prior explanation to fans that his name was a shortened form of 'shooting guard' from basketball. He admitted that the true story was too lengthy to explain previously. HYBE founder Bang Si-Hyuk had suggested the name to SUGA years ago, recognizing his technical prowess in rapping. The other BTS members expressed their astonishment upon hearing the authentic story for the first time during the interview.
