3 Oct, 2025
Summary
- RM's first solo curated exhibition at SFMOMA
- Showcasing RM's personal art collection and museum's works
- Collaboration expected to draw global attention

In a groundbreaking move, BTS leader RM is set to curate his first solo exhibition at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) from October 2026 to February 2027. This collaboration marks the first time in SFMOMA's history that the prestigious U.S. museum has partnered with a K-pop figure.
The exhibition, titled 'RM X SFMOMA,' will present around 200 pieces from RM's personal art collection alongside works from the museum's archive. The diverse selection will include paintings, sculptures, and contemporary experimental pieces, offering visitors a cross-cultural journey. Many of the featured works will be revealed to the public for the first time, including notable pieces from acclaimed Korean modern artists and international masters.
RM has expressed his hope that the exhibition will invite reflection on cultural and temporal boundaries, linking East and West, Korea and the United States, and personal and universal perspectives. SFMOMA's chief curator Janet Bishop has praised the initiative, emphasizing that audiences will gain a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience a dialogue between RM's thoughtful collection and the museum's treasures. This collaboration is expected to draw global attention not only from music fans but also from the international art community.
