The British Society of Cinematographers celebrated its 70th anniversary with its annual awards ceremony. Michael Bauman earned the top prize for best cinematography in a feature film for his work on 'One Battle After Another,' a project inspired by '70s cinema and shot in VistaVision.
Several other awards were presented. Ollie Downey BSC won for Television Drama (UK Terrestrial) for 'Reunion,' and Suzie Lavelle BSC ISC received an award for 'Severance' in the Television Drama (International/Streaming) category. Jake Gabbay also won for best Music Video.
A significant highlight was the presentation of the BSC Lifetime Achievement Award to Remi Adefarasin OBE BSC. Adefarasin, an Oscar-nominated cinematographer for 'Elizabeth,' has had a distinguished career, including Emmy nominations for 'Band of Brothers.'
The ceremony, held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London, also recognized operational excellence and technical achievements, alongside a Special Achievement Award for Hilda Sealy GBCT's inclusivity efforts. President Oliver Stapleton highlighted the event's significance in celebrating the industry's creativity.
