In late September 2025, longtime friends and actresses Bryce Dallas Howard and Kirsten Dunst reunited for a special screening of Dunst's new crime drama Roofman. Howard, 44, hosted the event in Beverly Hills, California, and later reflected on their special connection during an exclusive interview.
Howard, who co-starred with Dunst, 43, in 2007's Spider-Man 3, described their friendship as a "real kinship," saying it doesn't matter how long they've gone without seeing each other in person. "It's just, you're instantly right back where you were," she told PEOPLE.
The Jurassic World actress praised Dunst's authenticity, calling her a "girl's girl" who is "so real" and "unassuming." Howard also highlighted Dunst's intelligence, playfulness, and overall "delicious" qualities as a human being.
The two actresses share more than just a friendship - they've both worked with acclaimed Danish filmmaker Lars von Trier, with Howard leading his 2005 drama Manderlay and Dunst starring in his 2011 film Melancholia. Howard said that anyone who collaborates with Von Trier tends to form a special bond.
During her panel at the L.A. Comic Con, Howard also reflected on being "impressed" by Dunst's involvement in the Spider-Man franchise and her latest performance in Roofman, which is based on the true story of a former Army Ranger who turns to robbing McDonald's restaurants.
