In a surprise move, legendary musician Bruce Springsteen made an unannounced appearance at a charity concert in Asbury Park, New Jersey on October 26th. Springsteen joined his longtime bandmate Steven Van Zandt on stage for the "Party at the Pony" event, delivering several powerhouse performances.
The pair treated the audience to renditions of classic hits, including "I Don't Want to Go Home" from Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes' debut album, as well as Springsteen's own "Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out" from his 1975 album Born to Run. Springsteen also reportedly performed a cover of Eddie Floyd's "Raise Your Hand," a staple of his live shows since the 1970s.
The concert, which featured other members of the "E Street Band Family," benefited TeachRock, a non-profit organization founded by Van Zandt. TeachRock aims to bring the sound, stories, and science of music into classrooms to improve students' lives.
