Brubaker and Phillips' Crime Noir Saga Comes to Life on Prime Video

In 2025, Prime Video is set to debut a highly anticipated new series based on the acclaimed crime noir comics of Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips. Titled 'Criminal', the show will bring the duo's multi-generational saga to life, with a star-studded cast led by Charlie Hunnam and Garrett Hedlund.

Hedlund, who is currently appearing in the third season of Tulsa King on Paramount+, recently shared his excitement for the 'Criminal' adaptation. He revealed that Brubaker himself will serve as the showrunner, with Phillips also on board as an executive producer, ensuring the final product will be the "idealized version" of the source material.

While Hedlund remained tight-lipped on the details of his own character, he did note that his role in 'Criminal' will likely differ from the small-time criminal he portrays in Tulsa King. The series is expected to have a darker, more serious tone compared to the occasional humor found in Hedlund's current show.

In addition to Hunnam and Hedlund, 'Criminal' boasts an impressive ensemble cast that includes Richard Jenkins, Kadeem Hardison, Luke Evans, Emilia Clarke, and more. Fans can look forward to the series debuting sometime after the 2025 TV premiere season concludes.
