McCool, who coached a 14-year-old Brooklyn at Queen's Park Rangers, described him as exceptionally shy and polite, often accompanied by security even during training sessions.

McCool recollected incidents that underscored the surreal nature of Brooklyn's environment, such as security procuring a crate of drinks for him. He admitted finding Brooklyn's life "crackers" and felt sadness observing the youngster's apparent embarrassment and detachment.

Defending David and Victoria Beckham, McCool suggested they may have been attempting to protect their son by providing him space. However, other accounts have surfaced, with a former school acquaintance, Afton McKeith, suggesting the Beckhams might have informed paparazzi of Brooklyn's movements.

McKeith stated that Brooklyn appeared visibly distressed by the constant press presence, which she believed was too organized to be coincidental. While not directly implicating anyone, she hinted that individuals close to Brooklyn's daily schedule might have been involved.
