Britney Spears is reportedly doing okay in the wake of her recent DUI arrest, as stated by her close friend and former assistant, Sean Phillip. During an appearance on "Good Morning Britain" on Friday, Phillip shared that Spears authorized him to speak about the situation and even shared their text exchange. Phillip conveyed Britney's simple message of "I'm OK" and her agreement for him to "Go ahead" when he asked permission to discuss the matter.
Phillip expressed anxiety about conducting interviews but felt compelled to speak out to assure the public that Spears is "such a great person" who, like anyone, "make[s] mistakes." Having known Spears for nearly 24 years and communicating with her frequently, Phillip stated the arrest was a surprise, asserting it does not reflect her true character as a "lovely, lovely, lovely person." He aims to protect her, finding it "bad" when she endures public mistakes.
Reflecting on potential changes, Phillip suggested that the best course of action for Spears might be to leave Los Angeles. He noted that despite the incident, she remains the same person he knew since 2003, with no disassociation from her character. However, he advised consideration of her current associations, hinting at recent interactions with "shady characters."
