Britney's DUI Arrest: Sobriety Test Footage Released

Footage capturing Britney Spears' sobriety test and subsequent DUI arrest, which occurred on March 4, was made public two months after the incident. The dashcam video shows Spears performing a field sobriety test on the roadside near her Ventura County home, following a call about a vehicle swerving at high speeds. Authorities noted a distinct odor of alcohol in her car. Spears reportedly admitted to consuming champagne earlier that day and also confirmed taking prescription medications, including Lamictal, Prozac, and Adderall. A police report indicated the presence of an open wine glass and a purse containing Adderall not prescribed to her.

During the sobriety test, Spears expressed discomfort with the lights and was unable to complete the test as instructed. Despite her blood alcohol content later testing below the legal limit, she was arrested. Spears subsequently entered rehab on April 12, with her sons reportedly influencing her decision. In a plea deal on May 4, she pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of 'wet reckless driving,' resulting in a sentence of 12 months probation, jail credit for time served, fines, and mandatory psychological and psychiatric treatment. Her attorney stated that Spears accepted responsibility and was taking steps toward positive change.
