Summary
- Rege-Jean Page stars in new Tuscany-based romantic comedy
- Film follows mistaken identity plot with Halle Bailey's character
- Page compares movie to classic rom-coms like Roman Holiday

In a recent interview, Bridgerton star Rege-Jean Page has revealed details about his upcoming Tuscany-set romantic comedy, You, Me And Tuscany. The 37-year-old actor, who is best known for playing Simon Basset in the hit Netflix series, says the new film will remind viewers of classic romantic comedies like Roman Holiday.
The movie follows the story of Anna, played by Halle Bailey, who stays in the villa of a man she has a chance encounter with - without his permission. Anna's European getaway is then complicated when the man's mother, Gabriella (Isabella Ferrari), arrives and mistakes her for her son's fiancée. This leads to Anna meeting Matteo's cousin Michael, played by Page, who becomes her love interest in the film.
Page explains that the movie speaks to the charm of traditional romantic comedies, where characters resolve their issues through open communication rather than physical conflict. "When you stop making rom-coms, you stop making movies where people resolve their problems with talking to each other, and I think that is something we've lost," he says.
The actor also compares the film to other classic rom-com hits like Sleepless in Seattle, noting that it's not just about the central romantic leads, but also explores the importance of family and the people you love in your life. With its Tuscany setting and mistaken identity premise, You, Me And Tuscany seems poised to capture the same timeless appeal as its cinematic predecessors.
