Thousands of fans were nominated for this promotional competition by friends. Hardy put forth her best friend, a teaching assistant, recognizing her consistent selflessness. The surprise unfolded with subtle hints like a horse-drawn carriage and Regency hairstyles, which Taylor initially missed. Upon discovering the true nature of the event and the presence of her family, Taylor expressed disbelief, calling it an "absolute dream."

Taylor and Hardy subsequently attended the Paris premiere, walking the red carpet and interacting with the cast. Taylor also received a personal video call from Nicola Coughlan, who portrays Penelope Featherington.
