Hikari, who was an exchange student in Utah, was inspired by her own experiences forming connections in a new environment.

The film, centering on an American expat actor, aims to offer a new perspective on cross-cultural experiences and the nature of family. It has resonated with audiences, winning Audience Awards at the Middleburg Film Festival, Chicago International Film Festival, and Woodstock Film Festival.
