- Landmark status protects the 1959 home from demolition or major renovations.
- HGTV previously purchased the home for $3.5 million in 2018.

The Los Angeles City Council has unanimously voted to designate the "Brady Bunch" house as a historic-cultural monument. This landmark status applies to the home located on Dilling Avenue in the San Fernando Valley, which was famously used for exterior shots in the popular 1970s television sitcom.
The decision grants protections to the 1959-built residence, safeguarding it from demolition or major renovations. While not prohibiting such changes entirely, any significant alterations would be subject to design review by the Cultural Heritage Commission.
The nonprofit LA Conservancy advocated for the landmark status, with CEO Adrian Scott Fine expressing thrill over the approval. He highlighted the personal connection fans have to the property, often making pilgrimages to see it.
In 2018, the house garnered significant attention when HGTV won a bidding war for it, ultimately purchasing the 2,400-square-foot residence for $3.5 million. HGTV later undertook a renovation to incorporate trademark elements of the set, documented in a miniseries.
