The trailer for the fifth and final season of The Boys reveals the highly anticipated reunion of Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Misha Collins. This season will see the onscreen reunion of the Supernatural cast, with Ackles reprising his role as Soldier Boy.
The released footage showcases Soldier Boy awakening from cryogenic stasis and discovering his father, Homelander. Their alliance for domination will lead them to confront characters portrayed by Padalecki and Collins, whose roles remain under wraps but see them in vibrant attire within a grand mansion.
Showrunner Eric Kripke, also the creator of Supernatural, orchestrated this reunion despite scheduling challenges. Misha Collins' character is shown being subdued by Soldier Boy in a tense moment. This season takes place after Gen V season 2 and depicts the ultimate struggle for America's fate.
As Homelander exerts dictatorial control, key heroes like Hughie, Mother's Milk, and Frenchie are confined to a 'Freedom Camp.' Annie is organizing a resistance, while Kimiko's whereabouts are unknown. Amidst this turmoil, Butcher emerges with a plan to eradicate all supes using a virus.
