In the upcoming family entertainment movie "Barry & Me," a young boy named Georg discovers and secretly raises a St. Bernard puppy in a Swiss mountain hospice. The film is inspired by the Swiss legend of the famous barrel-wearing rescue dog who helped recover dozens of people swept up in avalanches in the 1800s.
However, this version focuses on the extraordinary friendship between Georg and the puppy, leading to adventures in the breathtaking Swiss Alps. As others threaten to take the beloved dog away, Georg risks everything to protect their unbreakable bond.
Directed by German filmmaker Markus Welter, "Barry & Me" is a Swiss-German co-production that will start in Swiss cinemas in January 2026 and in Germany the following March. The film has already secured international sales representation from The Playmaker and distribution deals in Germany and Switzerland.
