Summary
- Borderlands 4 Switch 2 port development paused by Take-Two.
- GTA VI release date remains set for November 2026.
- GTA V has sold an impressive 225 million units to date.

Take-Two Interactive has announced a significant pause in the development of Borderlands 4 for the Nintendo Switch 2. This decision was revealed during the company's Q3 2026 earnings presentation, impacting a port originally planned for October 3, 2025. The port had previously been delayed from its initial launch window.
Developers cited a need for additional development time and polish, with hopes to align the release with cross-save functionality. However, Take-Two's recent statements and omission from the Q3 presentation strongly suggest the Switch 2 version, if it ever materializes, will not be available anytime soon.
In contrast, Grand Theft Auto VI maintains its November 19, 2026 release date. After multiple adjustments, Rockstar Games' highly anticipated title is on track. Take-Two expressed confidence, projecting marketing to commence this summer.
The company also highlighted the enduring success of Grand Theft Auto V, which has achieved a remarkable sales figure of 225 million units since its 2013 debut, underscoring the franchise's continued commercial power.
