Border 2: No Green Screen Action!

Border 2 director Anurag Singh detailed the significant challenges of filming its large-scale war sequences entirely without green screens. The production team utilized real locations such as Dehradun and Jhansi, often contending with extreme weather conditions and managing vast crews for complex staging.

Singh explained that coordinating numerous elements, from explosives and stunts to crowd movements, was critical for each shot to succeed. He noted that while practical elements were prioritized, certain aspects, like aerial combat featuring fighter planes, necessitated the use of visual effects to maintain believability on screen.

The film's action design also emphasized emotional authenticity. Singh highlighted that strong performances from actors like Varun Dhawan and Sunny Deol were crucial in grounding the expansive set pieces and ensuring that character-driven moments were not lost amidst the spectacle. The aim was to balance grand action with compelling human narratives.
