The end-credits cameo of Akshaye Khanna in Border 2 has sparked discussions on social media. Contrary to speculation that his appearance was a last-minute addition to leverage the success of his recent film Dhurandhar, the film's makers have firmly denied this. Co-producer Bhushan Kumar clarified that Khanna's role was scripted from the outset and not an opportunistic move.
Director Anurag Singh confirmed that Khanna's portion was shot on December 10-11. He emphasized that Khanna is featured in Border 2 as a tribute to the original film and was integral to the story from the beginning. Border 2, starring Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty, is set against the backdrop of the significant 1971 India-Pakistan war.
