24 Jan
Summary
- Advance bookings for Border 2 reached over 4 lakh tickets by Friday.
- The film grossed ₹12.5 crore in opening day advance bookings.
- Border 2 surpassed previous hits but fell short of Gadar 2's record.

The upcoming war drama, Border 2, has experienced an extraordinary uptake in advance ticket sales, with over 4 lakh tickets sold by Friday morning. The film's opening day gross for advance bookings has reached ₹12.5 crore, a testament to its strong pre-release buzz. This figure includes a modest contribution from premium formats like IMAX and 4DX.
Border 2's advance booking performance has already surpassed Sunny Deol's previous film, Jaat, which collected ₹2.4 crore in pre-sales and opened to ₹9 crore net. It also outdid Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar, which secured just over ₹9 crore for its first day. However, the film fell short of the record set by Gadar 2, which amassed ₹17.50 crore in advance bookings three years prior.
The film, a sequel to the 1997 hit Border, is directed by Anurag Singh and stars Sunny Deol alongside Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty. Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, J.P. Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, Border 2 was released in theatres on January 23, strategically placed before Republic Day.
