Summary

- A new joke featuring Jeffrey Epstein was added to the show.
- Original stars returned for a special reunion performance.

The Book of Mormon celebrated its 15th anniversary on Broadway with a special reunion performance on March 19th. The Eugene O'Neill Theatre hosted a packed house of fans for the milestone event, which saw the return of original stars and a newly added joke.
During the "Spooky Mormon Hell Dream" number, convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein was incorporated as a character, replacing a previous reference to Jeffrey Dahmer. This provocative addition was developed by creators Trey Parker, Matt Stone, and Robert Lopez, who have consistently pushed boundaries with the show.
The anniversary celebration also included a reunion of original cast members and alumni. The festivities are set to continue with a "Magical Mormon Mystery Week" in June, featuring original stars like Josh Gad and Andrew Rannells. Additionally, a special 15th-anniversary edition of the original Broadway cast recording will be reissued on vinyl and CD in late June.
The Book of Mormon remains the 10th longest-running musical in Broadway history and the longest-running show at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre. Productions continue internationally, with shows in London and touring across North America, the UK, and Australia.
