Acclaimed director Bong Joon Ho is set to release his first animated feature, titled "Ally," boasting a star-studded voice cast. The ensemble includes Ayo Edebiri, Bradley Cooper, Dave Bautista, Finn Wolfhard, Alex Jayne Go, Rachel House, and Werner Herzog.
Developed since 2019, the film centers on Ally, an endearing piglet squid dwelling in the deep South Pacific. Her ultimate dream is to experience the sun and become a documentary subject.
Ally's tranquil existence is shattered when a mysterious aircraft crashes into her ocean home. This event propels her and her companions on a perilous adventure toward the ocean's surface.
Co-financed and distributed by CJ ENM, Penture Invest, and Pathé, "Ally" is scheduled for completion in the first half of 2027, with a release later that year. Neon will distribute in North America, while Pathé and CJ/Penture will manage distribution in various international markets.
