Bombay HC: Resolve Plagiarism Claims Legally, Not Publicly
17 Apr
Summary
- High Court suggested an amicable resolution to the script dispute.
- Public statements are discouraged; legal channels are advised for claims.
- Court previously restrained public defamatory statements on April 8.

The Bombay High Court has advised writer-director Aditya Dhar and Santosh Kumar to seek an amicable resolution for their dispute concerning the script of 'Dhurandhar 2 - The Revenge.' Justice Arif Doctor indicated that such matters should not escalate into lengthy defamation suits.
The court stressed that if Kumar believes his intellectual property was infringed, he should pursue civil remedies legally. However, it cautioned against making public statements about such concerns, suggesting that disagreements over authorship are best addressed through structured legal procedures.
Previously, on April 8, the High Court had issued an injunction restraining Santosh Kumar from repeating allegedly defamatory statements regarding the script. This action followed Dhar's approach to the court seeking relief after Kumar's claims, which Dhar denied as defamatory.
