Sparsh Shrivastava's character, Bhugol, in Dupahiya Season 2, embodies a small-town dreamer navigating newfound fame, heavily influenced by Bollywood's golden era. The actor revealed that icons such as Govinda, Salman Khan, and Madhuri Dixit significantly shaped Bhugol's personality and expressions in the upcoming season.
References to these stars are woven into Bhugol's character, including a mandir sequence inspired by Govinda's role in 'Raja Babu' and attire reminiscent of Salman Khan's iconic jacket from 'Maine Pyar Kiya'. Madhuri Dixit's influence is seen in the 'launda naach' dance sequences.
Filming a 'launda naach' scene also brought back a poignant personal memory for Shrivastava. He recalled choreographer Kruti giving him a ₹500 note, an act that reminded him of veteran choreographer Saroj Khan, who used to give him ₹100 notes during a 2010 dance reality show. Dupahiya Season 2 premieres exclusively on Prime Video on October 1.
The series, directed by Sonam Nair, features a returning cast including Gajraj Rao and Renuka Shahane, with Dinesh Lal Yadav joining for the new season.
