Bollywood Star Narrowly Escapes Knife Attack at Mumbai Home

In January 2025, Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan was the victim of a shocking home invasion at his Mumbai residence. The incident unfolded shortly after midnight, with Khan's sons, Taimur and Jeh, present at the time.

According to Khan, an intruder broke into his home and assaulted him, leaving the actor with a deep thoracic spine injury. Despite the attack, Khan fought off the assailant barehanded, describing the experience as a "miraculous" escape. "There's this crazy sense of how lucky one is because it was damn close. To walk away relatively unscathed is nothing short of miraculous," he said.

Doctors at Lilavati Hospital later removed a 2.5-inch blade fragment from Khan's body, confirming that the knife had narrowly missed his spinal cord. Medical experts cautioned that even a slight shift could have resulted in paralysis for the actor.

The intruder, identified as Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, was apprehended shortly after the attack. Reports indicate that Shehzad had intended to rob the residence and assaulted both Khan and a staff member with a wooden weapon and a knife before being arrested by the police.

Saif Ali Khan, who was last seen in the Netflix action thriller 'Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins', is now recovering from the incident and gearing up for future projects. His next film, Haiwan, directed by Priyadarshan, will reunite him with Akshay Kumar.
