Hasan Minhaj & Smriti Mundhra Launch Bollywood Dance Doc

A new documentary series, Bollywood Dance U, is set to premiere on September 23, marking a collaboration between Smriti Mundhra, known for Netflix's Indian Matchmaking, and comedian Hasan Minhaj. Created and directed by Mundhra, the series will be available on Minhaj's YouTube channel.

The four-episode series offers an in-depth look at the competitive collegiate Bollywood fusion dance circuit. It specifically follows two rival teams from Texas as they battle for a championship at the national competition called Legends.

Minhaj serves as the narrator and executive producer for the series, expressing excitement about bringing Mundhra's work to a wider audience. Joe Lewis, an Emmy winner, is also producing the series, highlighting Mundhra's keen eye for the drama and heart within the Bollywood Fusion dance community. The choice of YouTube as a platform is seen as fitting for a show about today's students.
