Tanner Novlan, the actor playing Dr. Finn on The Bold and the Beautiful, has spoken about the complexities of his character's storyline involving Steffy's pregnancy. Finn, a doctor, is presented as struggling to uncover the truth behind Steffy's deception, which stems from a one-night stand with Carter Walton.
Carter orchestrated a plan for Steffy to claim she was acting as a surrogate, using her own frozen eggs to explain her pregnancy with his child while Finn was away. This elaborate deception aimed to hide the affair and its consequences.
Novlan explained that Finn's initial lack of suspicion is partly due to the unexpected nature of Steffy's involvement with Carter, a pairing he wouldn't have easily considered. However, he noted that Finn is beginning to sense that something is amiss, with Steffy's actions becoming more questionable.
Lawrence Saint-Victor, who plays Carter, and Murielle Hilaire, who plays Daphne, also shared insights into their characters' motivations. Hilaire suggested Daphne, like many in real life, may have chosen to overlook certain issues to maintain peace. Saint-Victor reflected on Carter's internal conflict, questioning his own virtues after making a significant mistake and losing Daphne's trust.
Saint-Victor further elaborated that both Carter and Steffy are being forced into roles they don't embody to maintain the lie, predicting further unraveling of their actions. The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS and streams on Paramount+.
