Ex-Models Accuse Bob Barker of Hostile 'Price Is Right' Set
26 Mar
Summary
- Former models allege racism and discrimination on set.
- Allegations include racial slurs and biased contestant selection.
- Claims of retaliation against models who didn't comply.

A new docuseries, 'Dirty Rotten Scandals,' is revisiting long-standing allegations of racism and discrimination on 'The Price Is Right' during Bob Barker's 35-year hosting career. Former models have come forward with claims of a hostile environment both on and off set.
Kathleen Bradley, the show's first full-time Black model, recounts experiencing negativity from fans and hearing racial slurs used by staff when models were absent. Claudia Jordan, who joined years later, alleges that contestant selection was racially coded, with a limit on Black contestants per taping, a practice she attributes to Bob Barker.
Further accusations include stereotyping and discomfort from Barker when Black contestants approached him. Holly Hallstrom claims Barker was "cruel and viciously vindictive," alleging retaliation after she refused to support him in a sexual harassment case involving another model. She also recounts Barker making a racially charged remark about Black men.
These claims have gained renewed attention, partly fueled by a viral clip showing Barker appearing to distance himself from a Black contestant. Barker, who passed away in 2023 at 99, denied all allegations during his life. His representative continues to defend his legacy against these accusations.
