BMF Series Finale Ends with Cliffhanger Arrest, Feud Overshadows Cancellation
29 Oct
Summary
- BMF's 4th season concluded in August 2025
- Big Meech's arrest by Detective Von Bryant in finale
- Feud between 50 Cent and Big Meech contributed to show's end

In August 2025, the hit crime drama BMF aired its series finale, concluding the show's 4-season run. The finale episode, "Dreams Deferred," left viewers on a cliffhanger, with the show's central character, Demetrius "Big Meech" Flenory (played by Demetrius Flenory Jr.), getting arrested by Detective Von Bryant (Steve Harris).
The cancellation of BMF, which was based on the real-life story of the Flenory brothers and their Black Mafia Family, was reportedly influenced by a longstanding feud between executive producer Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson and the real-life Big Meech. The two had a falling out in the early 2000s when Jackson accused Meech of being a federal informant, an allegation Meech strongly denied. Their ongoing beef is said to have caused anxiety on the show's set in its later seasons.
However, the network's decision to end BMF was not solely due to the 50 Cent-Meech feud. Starz CEO Jeffrey Hirsch had previously indicated plans to contain content costs by developing more new shows rather than sustaining existing series as they become more expensive. The network is shifting its focus to new projects, including spinoffs from the popular "Power" franchise, such as Power: Origins and Power: Legacy.
Despite the show's cancellation, BMF's story and the lives of its real-life inspirations, Demetrius "Big Meech" Flenory and Terry "Southwest T" Flenory, remain available for further exploration by fans and researchers.
