'Blue Bloods' Star Donnie Wahlberg Navigates Fatherhood Challenges in Boston Spinoff

The 'Blue Bloods' spinoff 'Boston Blue' has been delving into the complicated relationship between Donnie Wahlberg's character Danny Reagan and his onscreen son Sean, played by a new actor Mika Amonsen.

In a recent episode, Danny confided in his partner Lena about the challenges of living with Sean. Danny was upset that Sean had stood him up for a planned breakfast, saying he was "all for the kid staying in shape, but I am trying to spend time with him." Lena pointed out that residing in the same apartment can create problems, but Danny disagreed, believing they were "having a great time" and wanting to stay close.

However, Sean later admitted to his partner Jonah that there were growing pains, especially after they fought over Danny making his adult son's bed. Sean said he couldn't ask Danny to move out since he "uprooted his whole life" to be with him, but he "just wish[ed] he would leave at the end of the night."

Ultimately, the father and son duo were able to reach a compromise. Sean decided to move in with Jonah, while Danny remained in his own apartment. The writers explained this change was an "organic opportunity to bring in a new performance with a new energy" as the Reagans navigate this new chapter of their lives.
