These events align with the U.S. Naval Academy's Commissioning Week, which culminates in a graduation ceremony on Friday, May 22, 2026.
The Blue Angels, known for their daring aerial stunts flying F/A-18 Super Hornets at high speeds, will conduct their practice show at 2 p.m. over the Severn River on Tuesday. The main demonstration is also set for 2 p.m. on Wednesday. Authorities have issued warnings regarding expected traffic disruptions, detours, and heavy congestion from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days.
In addition to road closures, vessel traffic on the Severn River will be restricted. These restrictions will be in place from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday and from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday. The Blue Angels are slated for another Maryland appearance later in the year, with demonstrations planned for June 27 and June 28 in Baltimore for the Sail250 airshow.
