Blake Lively is credited by director Paul Feig for recommending Brandon Sklenar for a role in the upcoming film Housemaid. Lively, who recently worked with Sklenar on It Ends With Us, enthusiastically endorsed him to Feig, whom she had previously collaborated with on the Simple Favor films.

Feig shared that after Lively's strong recommendation, he met with Sklenar and was quickly won over by his remarkable charisma and acting ability. However, Sklenar himself offered a slightly different account during a recent interview, humorously suggesting that Sydney Sweeney was the one who championed his casting.

Sklenar expressed surprise that Sweeney advocated for him, especially given his background in playing cowboys. He noted that he was honored by the belief in his ability to portray a contemporary, white-collar character and that both Sweeney and Feig were supportive of his involvement.
