Lively & Baldoni Court Battle: Settlement Talks Fail
12 Feb
Summary
- Blake Lively's sexual harassment lawsuit talks failed Wednesday.
- The legal dispute involves claims from a 2024 romantic drama.
- Baldoni's countersuit against Lively was dismissed last June.

Actress Blake Lively and director Justin Baldoni were present at a New York courthouse on Wednesday for mandatory settlement talks. These discussions aimed to resolve Lively's sexual harassment lawsuit stemming from the set of the 2024 romantic drama "It Ends With Us" before a trial scheduled for May. The talks, lasting over six hours, concluded without a settlement, as confirmed by Baldoni's attorney.
The yearlong, contentious legal battle has garnered significant attention. Lively sued Baldoni and a crisis communications expert, alleging harassment and a smear campaign after she raised concerns about his conduct on set. Baldoni and his production company had countersued Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, for defamation and extortion.
However, Judge Lewis J. Liman dismissed Baldoni's countersuit in June of last year. The unresolved nature of Lively's lawsuit continues to highlight broader issues of power, influence, and gender dynamics within the entertainment industry.
