On October 29th, 2025, GLAAD revealed the winners of its TV Pilot Pitch Competition from the recent Black Queer Creative Summit. The first-place winner, Jules Crosby, received $5,000 and an eight-week mentorship lab for their project "Don't Try This at Home." Second place went to Carlton V Bell II for "un-United," and third place was awarded to Chas Jackson for "MISS BEHAVIOR."
The mentorship lab, led by producer Sidra Smith, will provide the winners with tailored guidance on script development, packaging, and pitching their projects. The curriculum will cover logline refinement, pilot structure, world-building, script reviews, and pitch practice. Additionally, the top three winners will receive global memberships to Soho House.
The Black Queer Creative Summit is an initiative by GLAAD to support diverse voices in the television industry. This year's pitch competition was judged by a panel of industry professionals, including DaShawn Usher, Alexander King, George M. Johnson, and Lee Daniels. "This competition is about more than great stories -- it's about making sure Black queer creators have the platform and support to share them," Daniels said in a statement.
