New Black Panther Rises: Jonsson Takes the Mantle

At San Diego Comic-Con 2026, director Ryan Coogler revealed that David Jonsson will embody the new Black Panther. Jonsson is set to play T'Challa, the son and namesake of the original hero portrayed by the late Chadwick Boseman. This exciting announcement came with the confirmation of Black Panther 3, slated for a December 15, 2028 release.

Jonsson expressed his honor and privilege in joining the esteemed Marvel family. Further adding to the film's intrigue, Denzel Washington confirmed his role in the upcoming installment, a detail previously hinted at and later confirmed by Coogler.
