Summary

- Actor Bartosz Bielenia, known for 'Corpus Christi,' led the band WLVS
- Tragic passing of actor Tomi Alatalo casts bittersweet tone for film's release

In the lead-up to the release of his debut feature film "Wolves," director Jonas Ulrich took an immersive approach to capturing the world of black metal music. Ulrich formed an actual black metal band, WLVS, led by actor Bartosz Bielenia, known for his role in the Oscar-nominated "Corpus Christi."
The band not only recorded a full album but also toured and performed in real clubs as part of the film's production. Ulrich wanted to ensure the music scenes felt authentic, saying, "I wanted musicians to watch it and say: 'I know exactly what that feels like.'"
However, the release of "Wolves" is tinged with a bittersweet note, as the film's team mourns the tragic passing of actor Tomi Alatalo. Ulrich acknowledges, "It's bittersweet to release this film" in the wake of Alatalo's untimely death.
Despite the somber undertones, "Wolves" promises to offer a unique perspective on the black metal scene, exploring the experiences of a female character, Luana, played by Selma Kopp, as she navigates the male-dominated world of the genre.
